FAQ

Before you decide

What Practicks does, what it deliberately does not do, and how practice, evaluation and catalog access actually behave.

What Practicks is

Is Practicks a course platform?

No. Practicks publishes no learning content — no lessons, videos or course material — and prescribes no way to learn. It fits beside the material an associate already uses and focuses on practice, self-assessment and retention evidence. The one exception is Cohort Notes: on Institution and Pro plans, a trainer can share their own session board notes with their own cohort. Those notes come from the trainer, not from Practicks.

What is a skill?

A skill is a focused practice area, such as a language, framework or tool. You practise it at your own pace, and a skill is never a credential.

Do I need to choose a business domain?

No. Every skill belongs to a business domain, the field it comes from, such as IT Skills. If you practise through an institution, its domains are set up for you. If you sign up on your own, every domain open for self-practice is already yours. Either way you simply pick a skill, and where there is more than one domain the skills are grouped by domain. New domains are added as the catalogue grows.

How practice works

How does Practicks support continuous retention?

It uses active recall, feedback, optional self-explanation and spaced checks. A later answer matters because it helps show whether a concept is still holding after the first recovery.

Do hints reduce my practice score?

No. Using an available practice hint does not reduce marks. Hint use can appear in analysis so learners can reflect on how they answered.

Evaluation and access

Will learners see evaluation answers and marks?

Evaluation review is controlled by the institution and remains separate from learner-facing practice progress. Authorised staff can review evaluation outcomes according to policy.

Are all catalog items available to every user?

What you can open depends on your access — your enrolment, and your institution's plan and settings. The public catalog shows everything on offer; once you sign in, you see what your access includes, which can be a narrower set.

Your practice history is yours

Learners see their own progress. Scores are ranked only in live Rapid Fire rounds and on a practice group's shared assessments, and anyone can opt out of group boards.

Feedback is the product

Explanations, per-option tips and hints are part of practice on every plan, never an extra.

Coverage is a growing list

New skills and chapters are added over time. The catalog shows what is live today.
